Changes to opening hours and service availability over the Christmas and New Year period.
Council services and facilities will operate under adjusted hours over the Christmas and New Year period.
We encourage you to check the details below to help plan ahead and minimise any inconvenience during this time.
Council offices and facilities
Norwood Town Hall & Citizen Services
- Closes: 3:00pm, Wednesday 24 December 2025
- Re-opens: 8:30am, Monday 5 January 2026
For emergencies: Contact our after-hours emergency number: 08 8366 4555. For life-threatening emergencies, dial Triple Zero (000).
Many of our services are available online — from payments to report a problem, to our digital library and requesting hard waste collections.
St Peters Child Care Centre & Pre-School
- Closes: 3:00pm, Wednesday 24 December 2025
- Re-opens: 7:30am, Tuesday 2 January 2026
Libraries
St Peters Library – Closed on public holidays:
- Thursday 25 December 2025 (Christmas Day)
- Friday 26 December 2025 (Proclamation Day)
- Thursday 1 January 2026 (New Year’s Day)
Norwood & Payneham Library
- Closes: 3:00pm, Wednesday 24 December 2025
- Re-opens: 8:30am, Monday 5 January 2026

Glynde Works Depot
- Closes: 1:30pm, Wednesday 24 December 2025
- Re-opens: 8:30am, Monday 5 January 2026
A reduced crew will be rostered during the Christmas and New Year period to respond to emergency or urgent works as required.
Christmas and New Year waste collections
Please note that waste and recycling collections will be delayed by one day due to public holidays during the Christmas and New Year period.
