Works Coordinator, Waste Services

Annual salary starting at $97,453 + Statutory Superannuation

The Role
The Works Coordinator, Waste Services, is the primary point of contact for all operational waste management matters across the organisation and is responsible for leading the Council’s waste services team.
This involves:
• Leading the waste services team and coordinating the team to respond and resolve reactive and time sensitive requests and tasks, service requests and enquiries
• Actively resolving and updating enquiries and tasks
• Ensuring safety and compliance with waste management by-laws, policies, procedures and environmental standards for the community
• Coordinating and manage operational waste-related tenders, agreements and contracts
• Providing input and advice regarding waste related matters in the assessment of development applications
• Coordinating sustainable waste practices for events and delivering waste education initiatives
• Seeking opportunities for continuous improvement
About You
To be successful in this position you will possess the following skills and experience:
• Relevant experience in environmental management, waste management, project management, operational management or a related discipline
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under pressure in a fastmoving operational environment
• Ability to lead, motivate and mentor a team
• Strong interpersonal skills to resolve situations
• Excellent communication skills
• Previous experience working in local or state government in a similar role is advantageous
Job Requirements
• Current drivers licence
• National police clearance with no adverse findings
• DHS Working With Children Clearance
