Annual salary of $116,112.49 - $123,285.37 + Statutory Superannuation
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is an inner eastern metropolitan Council, nestled on the outskirts of the CBD. The area enjoys a reputation as one of Adelaide’s most desirable places to live, work, study and visit.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources professional to join our organisation in a position that works across all departments to align human resources strategies with overarching Council Objectives.
The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Chief Executive’s Office and working alongside the Senior Human Resource Advisor, the Human Resource Advisor plays a pivotal role in shaping a positive and productive work environment.
As a Human Resources Advisor, you will be responsible for providing professional advice and support across all stages of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment to retention. You will work collaboratively with management and staff to ensure that human resources practices align with the organisation’s strategic goals.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing expert advice on HR and industrial relations matters, including recruitment, employment conditions and performance management.
• Supporting the implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Overseeing the Return-to-Work program, providing guidance to employees and managers to support safe and effective returns.
• Assisting with the development and delivery of employee engagement initiatives.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR systems.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems.
• Building strong relationships with all levels of staff to support a positive organisational culture.
About You
To be successful in this position you will need to have a positive attitude, be proactive and possess the following skills and experience:
• Three to five years’ experience in the field of Human Resources or similar discipline
• Postgraduate qualifications and/or relevant experience in Human Resource Management, Behavioural Psychology or related field will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience in interpretation of industrial instruments, recruitment and selection and Return-to-Work processes.
• An excellent working knowledge of the Local Government Act 1999, and relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
• Comprehensive understanding of the State and Federal Industrial Relations legislation and Equal Employment Opportunity requirements.
• Proven ability to apply legislative and statutory requirements in workplace scenarios.
• Highly effective interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport and maintain productive relationships with all levels of management and staff.
• Sound judgement and discretion in handling and maintaining sensitive and confidential information.
